The 10 Questions of Bernard Pivot: Question 5

What sound of noise do you love?

I have several, I can’t chose just one.

The sound of a kiss: Sounds really corny I know but it doesn’t even have to be a kiss between lovers. A simple kiss on the cheek from a friend, a kiss on the forehead from a family member, a kiss on the hand by an admirer; I think it’s just a sweet sound.

Food being made and cooked: Like I said on Day 1, my favorite word is food because of the way it brings people together at the table. I also said I like preparing a meal too. The sound of chopping garlic, peeling a potato, frying a piece of chicken just sounds like home to me. I like the satisfied sighs after people are done eating a good meal followed by the sound of someone rubbing their stomach to indicate how stuffed they are.

Opening a book: Sounds simple enough but I just like that sound. The sound of flipping pages and the way your fingers move across the page as you read. I’m just a big book nerd so anything about books gets me all excited.

Music: Who doesn’t like music? It makes you sad, it makes you happy, it gets you pumped, it calms you down. It soothes the soul. Enough said.

Laughter: I love the sound of laughter. It’s such a nice sound to the ears. It shows that someone is happy and sometimes it’s infectious too. The ones that come from the belly and the painful laughter you get from laughing too much are my favorites.
